How to get Tracking ID to link blogspot with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) 2020/2021
Updated: Dec 5, 2020
Not able to get the tracking ID from Google Analytics to link your blog page!! Don't worry, here is the solution.
Google Analytics is updated to GA4 ( Google Analytics 4) in the last week of October 2020. A site can be tracked through App (Android / iOS) and Web. In the earlier version, there was an option only for Web link, which is modified in the new revision. And make it work properly, Google Analytics now maintains a Global ID.
But unfortunately, the Blogger page does not support the Global ID at this moment. So, in the general process, you can't add that. Here is the step by step solution below to get the tracking ID and linking your blog page with Google Analytics and keep tracking.
Step 1: Open your Analytics page and log in / sign in with your Gmail ID and click Admin.
Step 2: Under your existing account go to Create property under your current site. And if you are creating a new account, please click Create Account.
Step 3: A new pop up will appear to create a property and enter the details.
Step 4: Enter the Property name (according to your website) and modify the time zone and currency based on your location. And click Show Advanced Options.
Step 5: In the Advanced option tick Create a Universal Analytics Property. Then enter the Website URL (please check the HTTPS / HTTP based on your website). Then select Create a Universal Analytics Property.
Step 6: Enter Industry category and Business Size (optional) and how do you want to use Google Analytics for your business (tick all applicable). Click Create.
Step 7: All done. Select Data Stream. New property is available under the drop down list. Select the new Property and then Tracking Info and then Tracking Code.
Step 8: Here we go. Copy and paste in the Blogger page and track the new website.
I hope this is useful to you. Please write your comment in case of any queries.
