Chipset: Apple A14 Bionic
The A14 Bionic, built with a bleeding-edge 5-nanometer manufacturing process, it is Apple’s most advanced SoC ever and likely the fastest mobile chip on the planet. As expected, Apple claims to be the “first in the industry” to make use of the 5nm process technology to manufacture chips. A14’s CPU is about 17 percent faster than the previous A13 (used in iPhone 11/11 Pro). And a new ISP powers Dolby Vision recording — something no pro movie camera, let alone any other phone, can do.
Connectivity: 5G
Here is the latest technology of cellular connectivity, 5G.
5G is around 10 times faster than 4G. It's designed to work at average speeds of 150-200Mbps, and peak speeds can reach above 1Gbps. This means you'll be able to download a full HD film in around 3 minutes (compared to over 15 minutes on 4G).
Apple has 5G auto mode which Enables Smart Data mode. When 5G speeds don’t provide a noticeably better experience, your iPhone automatically switches to LTE, saving battery life.
iPhone 12 Pro has up to 20 5G bands and up to 32 LTE bands — more than any other smartphone — for the most extensive coverage around the world.
LiDAR scanner: Technology, scan the surface of Mars. And, now in your living room
NASA is using LiDAR technology for its next Mars landing. iPhone 12 Pro uses a LiDAR scanner to measure how long it takes light to reflect back from objects. So it can create a depth map of whatever space you’re in. Because it’s ultra-fast and accurate, AR apps can now transform a room into a realistic rainforest or show you how a new trainer will fit.
Pro camera system: Ultra Wide, Wide, Telephoto lens
Night mode comes to both the Wide and Ultra Wide cameras, and it’s better than ever at capturing incredible low-light shots. LiDAR makes Night mode portraits possible. The bigger iPhone maxes out the Pro camera system. A 47 percent larger sensor and larger pixels dramatically increase the amount of light gathered on the Wide camera. A new OIS stabilises the sensor instead of the lens so your shots are steady, even when you’re not. And the new 65mm Telephoto camera lets you zoom in tighter on portraits.
